Is it possible to see a person apart from the things that he/she does???

I'm just wondering, what defines a person? When someone thinks of a person, he/she will think of the things related to a person. For example, when I think of someone, I would think of something that the person does often, maybe in sports, in leisure, etc.

For myself, many people will think of cooking when they think of me.

But, as a person, do we let the things that we do define us, or do we let who we are define us?

Letting the 'things that we do' define us means that people see us from a one-sided perspective.

Categorizing people is something that humans always do so that they are able to grasp something complex, remove all the other connotations within that categorization and come to a simple conclusion/ judgement.

It is like cooking chicken rice without using garlic and ginger, or baking a cake and leaving out the vanilla essence, its not complete.

Discrimination comes about quickly when someone labels another person too quickly. Trends today place too much emphasis on the visuals (looking good, appearing attractive). Its too hard to look beneath the surface. Because we always thought that the happy ending should turn out like the way it does in Korean dramas, good looking, perfect scenario and all. What if its not?

What if being happy and being content with oneself meant that it is very different from what people always thought?

Does happiness just mean that you are able to get a good education, get a good job, and settle down in a comfortable life and grow old?

Do you think that by having people around you to accept you meant that you are content with yourself?

Does happiness entail that you live your life right now to the fullest, having the freedom to choose whatever in your life, getting the kick out of enjoying your playtime on weekends etc?

Think again, look deeper.
