Was at the Istana to usher for the Welcome dinner for these delegates. The Istana seriously takes up a lot of land for its private golf course... oh well, but it was beautiful, and many local fauna can be found in there. And the banquet hall is so grand lotsa antiques... wow the sparkling chandeliers, they really sparkle!!!! Took a few pics of them, will post it asap.

And up the flight of stairs a floor above the dinner hall, there was this mysterious looking Gurka(Nepalese guard) guarding some unknown meeting room upstairs. This Gurka constantly looked down the stairs at the commotion we were having(he was probably bored): ushering people to the dinner hall, and just looking at us loitering around the reception area. He kept a straight face all the time, and he sort of wore a bush hat tilted to the side, with navy blue police uniform. Perhaps it was the hat and the solemn gaze as he lowered his chin to look down at us, it made us, especially me, to get more intrigued by him. Furthermore, the area he was standing was not well lit, together with the bush hat, it casted a shadowy look on his face. INTRIGUING!!!! And not to forget he had a cute, broad face, looks young of course! Ahh!! but there was a moment that he actually smiled! We were acting like some idiots snapping pictures in the Istana, think he was quite amused by it, and he smiled!!! ooh... And all the girls were giggling and throwing shy glances up the stairs at him(Or was it just me?). Hohoho... Thats the way to attract a girl's attention man, act mysterious and cool, and smile occasionally. Think we have greatly boosted his well-being that day :)

Apart from that suave guard from the land of the Himalayas, beneath that mysterious meeting room I mentioned had 2 very famous people in it. We were all down at the reception area snapping pictures, talking to one another, when suddenly, some policemen shoved us to the room beside the flight of stairs and kept us behind glass doors. ThenI heard 'Bill Gates is walking down!' So all of us flocked to the glass door to get a million dollar glance at him. Felt like we were some exhibits behind some glass panel. Then Bill Gates walked down the stairs. Everyone started straining their necks to catch a glance. Bill Gates seem appaled at the bunch of excited looking 'exhibits' whose faces were all pressed flat on the glass door just to peer at him. Haha.
Guess he was not aware of the event going on below where he was. Few moments after he left, LKY walked down the stairs too. This time, I did not see him, as I was busy taking vain pictures of myself and Diana holding wine glasses sitting on a exquiste couch, looking very classy. But of course, the wine glasses were not ours, it was leftover wine placed on the coffeetable drank by our guests before dinner as reception. What an eventful first day for my job. Will elaborate on the 2nd and 3rd day another time, sigh, camp tomorrow. Made jelly for everyone at the camp.
